is droid usable on another network ?

This is a DUMB question so let me apologize for that first....

once my contract is up w Verizon( Less than 1 yr. ) .. will this droid be usable on another network ?

I have been w verizon so long I don't remember if I used an old phone and then got the contract or a phone with the contract ..thinking we may want to phones on anothre network and if this is still working well why not ... just thinking ahead...

You can flash the phone to cricket, but that will involve some internal setting changes to the phone. There are guides all over the place if u want to check them out. Google is your friend
