Root Is it bricked? PLEASE HELP

bootlegs

Newbie
so I rooted my phone according to the guide at the top of this link. Afterwards, I was looking for roms to install and I found one which was supposed to install 3, busybox (i think is what it was called), the superuser client and a kernel. I installed them foolishly not looking at the date and when I tried to reboot my phone it is stuck on the white htc screen. It was stuck for a while so i pulled the battery and tried to reboot to recovery and delete the data / cache and it still didn't work. I then tried to do a factory restore through recovery and it is still stuck on the white screen when I try to turn it on. I'm panicking, someone please help!

EDIT: Here is the link to the bundle I downloaded. Hope it helps somehow...

hey mclovin, nice name! I thought about doing that but I can't turn on the phone to plug it into my computer. without it being on disk drive mode i can't move a rom onto it, and it doesn't have any roms on it already. Is there any way I can get the rom to the phone without being able to turn the phone on?

i'm downloading the file now, it's pretty big. I'm confident it will work though. Thanks so much, you've been a huge help! I've spent the last few hours thinking the phone I spent my paycheck on yesterday was FUBAR. Much love, you are the reason the internet RULES!!!!!
edit: IT WORKS! Thanks so much, i am truly grateful

Download barcode scanner from the market, it's free. And I recommend juice defender, ROM manager, barnacle tether, and cachemate.

Quick question to bootlegs (OP) and McLovlein13...

bootlegs - when you "bricked" the phone, when you selected Recovery did it also go to the white HTC screen?

I ask because I had this same problem after trying to flash a different ROM and BOTH recovery and factory reset would show the white HTC screen.

McLovlein13 - could you explain
You accidentally flashed a froyo kernel while using ginger bread.
a little more? I was running Virtuous Unity v1.31.0 and tried to install CM7 (I think it was CM7 might have been something else) and then I started experiencing these issues.

your saying you were running virtuous unity just fine, then installed CM7(can you give me a link to where you downloaded it) and then you got stuck and the boot screen?

Crap, it wasn't CM7, it was Android Revolution HD. XDA Link is here.

I did the SuperWipe addon, then the actual ROM, then the "no-sense" addon.
(All three of those applied with recovery and NO reboot between).

alright yeah if that works your very lucky. that isnt meant for the Incredible2. Make sure the rom is made for our phone, the ones in my ROM/root thread are all compatible with the inc2.
