Is it just me or is the sgs2 over-rated?

For me that's the joy of Android. The posibility to have a different media player. A simple one, or a complex on with and equalizer and "whatnot"

Same goes for PC syncing. :)
 
Yes, it's over-rated. Because it's not available on any US carriers yet!! I'm actually want SGS IV. Then I can have my 3.0GHz octocore monster with 1080p Ultra Super AMOLED plus II 4.5" screen with 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 1 TB of storage with Super Cheesecake with cherry on top plus TouchWiz 8.0 with Advanced LTE radio. But I could careless about iTunes integration. Or syncing with a computer ever.

I have to say that I'm broadly with mrvirginia. In my house we have iTunes running on machines ranging from new laptops to an old PowerPC Mac Mini and it causes no performance issues either on Windows (XP and 7) or MacOS X (Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard).

Clearly, for reasons unknown, it doesn't work out for some people but it is one of the most widely used pieces of software on the planet and it didn't get that way by not working.
 
I'm new to Android, the SGS2 being my first Android phone for actual use and i do really like it, but i'm perplexed about the M4A issue. All my music is on my 32GB SD Card but about 300 songs are under 'unknown' - the album art has been found and the song titles are known but not the artists.

I've downloaded the free trial of poweramp as suggested in this thread and at the minute it still recognises it as unknown - will the full version recognise them properly or am i going to have to convert them?


OP - why get Android and use iTunes?! Isn't the whole point of going open source to avoid proprietary software? I drag and drop, but you may find Songbird also works for syncing.

WiFi not strong enough, I dont know where you got that from really. Whats your router that you use?

I get 39mbit down 27mbit up on a speedtest with my phone connected to my WiFi. My old HTC Desire and my wifes old IPhone 3GS can only get 22mbit down 12mbit up. My wife got this lovely GS2 aswell and she is very happy, it's lightyears faster than her friends IPhone 4, the batterytime is much better than my old HTC Desire. I'm very happy with the GS2.
