Help Is it possible to sync facebook contacts without having to be signed in to facebook?

I found that my Inspire syncsall of my facebook contacts into my contact list. This is nice since now most of my contacts have pics.

However, must I be signed on to facebook to have them synced?

The main issue that bothers me is that I keep on getting push notifications. I use tweetdeck (that is tied to my facebook) and I like to see my notifications there. Even on the settings on the facebook app, I have notifications unchecked...yet I still get them
