Help Is it possible to turn off everything except for GPS?

Im going on a hike this week and its possible that I might lose cell phone service out in the middle of the woods. I want to track this hike using My Tracks though. Is it possible to turn off the cell phone stuff so that my battery doesnt die from trying to locate a signal all day BUT still keep the GPS on so that I can record the track?

Basically everything but GPS. Obviously the phone itself needs to remain on but I wont be using wifi, 3g, or the cell phone itself. Just the GPS features.

Put the power control widget on one of your screens. through that, disable wifi, bluetooth, and sync. Enable GPS. Then go and disable mobile network (has a separate widget). Then put the phone in airplane mode (long press the power button while on).

You should be good to go, assuming My Tracks doesn't need internet access. I'm not familiar with that app.

Damn thats alot of steps lol, nice info tho

I thought it would too but I just tested it right now. I turn on airplane mode (the airplane symbol is on the screen) and turn on GPS. Its still tracking my movement.

Yeah as far as i know GPS doesn't effect plane systems, so no reason for it to power that off :), not 100% but i remember being allowed to use my Garmin GPS awhile back to track where my flight was going.
