Help Is it possible to use the Boost Mobile LG Volt on Virgin Mobile?

My sister needs a need phone to replace her Optimus F3 that has a broken headphone port. She wants to get the LG Volt. However, the Boost Mobile version of the LG Volt is much cheaper than the Virgin Mobile version. Is it possible to purchase the much cheaper Boost Mobile version of the LG Volt and activate it on Virgin Mobile?

Alternatively, she could get any version of the Volt and activate it on Ting along with porting her number. Depending on her usage, it could save her some money. Ting has the same coverage (Sprint towers) plus they allow voice roaming onto Verizon in areas without coverage for no additional charge.

I recently got a new Sprint prepaid version of the LG Volt for about $60 on ebay and I'm a heavy wifi user so my bill went from $35/month at Virgin Mobile down to $24/month on Ting.

I did the simpler solution - I moved from Virgin Mobile to Boost Mobile. My VM account was $37.10 (including tax) for 300 minutes + unlimited text and almost unlimited data, my BM account is the same price for unlimited minutes, text, and almost unlimited data. It took less than an hour to make the transition, although it helps to have a separate phone to call the companies if necessary if there's an issue during the transfer.

I don't think the Virgin Mobile LG Volt can be activated on Ting, but the Boost Volt and Sprint Prepaid Volt can be.

The Boost Moto G definitely can be activated on Ting, by the way. I have a few of them.
