Root Is it safe to factory reset after Unrooting?

Just curious, if you uninstalled some of the preloaded apps then unrooted your phone. Would it be safe to do a factory reset or is that a no no?

Thanks for the noob help.

I would advise against a factory reset if you have uninstalled any apps. I would recommend waiting until a stock image is available, restore, unroot, then factory reset. I might be over cautious and someone may disagree, but that is my .02 ;)

How about if it was just rooted and unrooted and nothing was done? Would you still follow the same actions? Thanks in advance.

If you did not remove any system apps you should be good to go, however I can personally only vouch for a factory reset while rooted works with issues.

i just did a factory reset on my rooted triumph with a bunch of stock apps removed without any issues.

I have confirmed it is safe to unroot and factory reset. However I used my stock backup that contained all system and Virgin apps.

Also on a side note I unrooted with the CM7 recovery and the stock recovery. Both did not brick the phone. It was a little nerve racking when I tried it with CM7 *shew* I don't know if that makes a difference but wanted to share. :)

You can be rooted/unrooted and do a factory reset while on the STOCK RECOVERY!!!

IF ROOTED:
DO NOT factory reset while using CWM RECOVERY unless you are in CWM to factory reset!

In short... Don't go to setting/privacy/factory reset to reset your phone. Boot into CWM then do a factory reset in CWM.

On many phones this will cause your phone to go into a continuous boot loop (i.e. splash screen to reboot repeating forever). I think I saw another thread where someone indicated that it was safe to factory reset, but I would still reset through cwm as a matter of practice.

I know it definitely happens on a rooted Optimus V, since I've done it myself. It can be fixed.
