Help Is it the Motion or MetroPCS?

If they throw you a Huawei (Valiant or Vitria), take it. I own both, they are great phones for the money spent on them. Valiant is a 3G compatible handset, Vitria is a 4G LTE model with a few more features. Either handset is even better if free :) I can't vouch for any Alcatel one touch or Lumia phones they may offer you; quite honestly I haven't heard anything good about them.

Dont get the Alcatel one touch its a piece of junk . the software is to frail brick brick is all you will say . a friend of mine had a problem with the screen just failed . she got 3phones for that one reason . you do the math .

I think I might go in just to take a look at what they have, but I do not think I will switch to another phone just yet. Thanks guys. : )

I just drove from La to Utah/Grand Canyon and back with my b/f. He and I are on the same account for Metro, and we also used to both have the LG Motion. He recently had some issues with his phone, because he travels a lot, with awful coverage. He upgraded the Motion to the 4G LTE LG Optimus F6. wow what a huge difference in service we had in service!

My phone, the Motion, almost NEVER worked, in between the bigger cities, etc. I kept it in airplane mode a lot because of it.

HIS phone, while maybe not quite being able to go online, send MMS messages, etc, would at least make phone calls. He had MUCH better coverage than I did, even the MMS at times depending on the businesses around us.

I will be upgrading soon, just might wait until the bitter end of the service, however.... see if they have any more specials, some better phones for cheap.

Just my .02 cents

If I understand this correctly, you can now bring an "unlocked" GSM phone to MetroPCS and use it on their system. Sales person at the store told me I could bring an unlocked iPhone if I wished. I never thought to ask her at the time, but if any "unlocked" GSM phone will work on their system, I might purchase another LG on either Amazon or eBay. Who unlocks the phones anyway??

You search for unlocked phones. The best place to buy is from swappa.com. It's almost a guarantee to get a good phone from there. It's a gamble from eBay. Do some research to find out what phones will work on T-Mobile. Don't pay some one to unlock a GSM phone. Just find one already unlocked.

yeah - I had the alcatel - it sucked hard. If it reboots while tethered to a computer it locks up and you have to let it discharge for hours before it would start working again. data transfer rates were horriblly slow, and after it was updated with the new ota update the screen went blank and wouldn't light up for nothing. stay away from it.

heard good things about the lumia, but never used it.

sucks that the motion is going dark. I love this phone. might be time to switch to the hydro xtrm

I'd say just buy the $50 LG Optimus F6, but idk if you can still keep the same plane rate. I've seen the Alcatel in my own hands, it seems decent. Idk about the Samsung exhibit though.

The Exhibit is pretty decent, IMO, except it has like half the space of the Motion. I think it's 2.5gb but, meh, you can fix that with root, right? I like that it's Jelly Bean and the screen size, lol. The Motion is pretty small.. xD and I think the Exhibit is one of the free phones right now. I have noticed my mom's Exhibit acting a bit laggy lately but I haven't really been monitoring it so I'm not sure why. Other than that, it's pretty nice.

My Motion lasted me just short of 2 years I believe. It was getting really slow too. Couldn't install/uninstall apps. Battery life was down to 1/2 day.

I bought an unlocked Motorola G from Motorola directly. I've had it for 48 hours and wow. Night and Day! Best 200 bucks I've spent on a cell phone. The Metro options were either junk aka minimal storage for the free/upgrade phones or 500$ for the high end stuff.

Buy an unlocked Moto G and you won't be sorry.

Maybe it is just some quirky problem in my area, but I am getting messages that calls cannot be put through and to try again later. Woman at the Metro store told me this phone would be large unusable by July, maybe she was correct.
