Alright. I have been a Virgin Mobile Customer for at least 5 years now. I got the Intercept when it first came out, as well as the Triumph. My Intercept (while slow) was useable, and turned out to be a well rounded phone, and now that I think about it, I sorta miss it. The Triumph has been plagued with issues since day one, and while most of it was software, some has been hardware.

The Triumph has been out for about 6 months, and has yet been given a "software update." And at the same time, Virgin Mobile has yet to release any new device that is even comparable to the Triumph. Boost Mobile however, has had plenty of devices released in the same stretch of time. And on top of that, Straight Talk and Net10 are about to get the LG Optimus G2X.

My question is, what do you think? I know the Mobile World Conference is about a week away, and I know something should happen there... but in all honesty, does that excuse the fact that VM has in a way "dropped the ball" when it comes to its Android lineup?

IMO if you get decent 3g speeds and are happy with there service then at least wait to see what happens. I wouldn't recommend straight talk at all even if they get the G2X (read their terms, they can terminate your account for talking to much, texting to much, using the web for anything but browsing, this is on their unlimited plan.). boost mobile uses the same network as VM so if you don't get good speeds and want better speeds, don't switch to them. I have heard about simple mobile, I don't know much about them other than you get a sim from them and that's it you just pay your bill and put the sim in a phone of your choice I believe. But after saying all that I do think VM is kinda going down the drain IMO. Unless they pull something miraculous I think they are gonna be losing a lot of customers. I mean since the conference is so close I would wait and decide what you want to do from there. Maybe VM will actually come out with a decent phone. Just you have to remember VM seems to never update their phones, unlike other companies both prepaid and postpaid. I'm kinda surprised they haven't released a new phone though. they usually release a new phone every 3ish months. Although The prices on their phones are dropping so maybe they're planning something.

Sorry for the long post, but those are just my thoughts and opinions, plus I couldn't wimp out on my 1,000 post :D.

The only thing I worry about is the fact that I don't have an option to get a better device. LOL, I know that seems dumb, but I am happy with my data speeds, and I rarely ever talk...so yeah.

And congratz on your 1000th post!

I am planning on sticking around with VM for a while. I can switch when I want a new device if they don't have one I am happy with then.

Well the MT isn't a bad device and I would still use it, but VM's speeds just aren't up to par in my area. I mean if I didn't have a job and couldn't afford to move to something else I would still be stuck with it to. The only major issues that are wide spread that affects a lot of things on the MT is the touchscreen, but once you get past that its a decent phone and worth holding on to.

I totally get where you guys are coming from. I just can't believe VM hasn't released something new! (Either similar/better than the Triumph)

Besides, I only pay $25 a month.

Yeah, I hear that. But I just got this (right after release) and will be sticking with it for a while. I get good service, and my device hasn't been plagued by issues. I don't need anything new yet though.

I am used to 2yr contracts, so sticking with a phone for a while isn't that hard.

AH. See, I'm used to prepaid. I jump for joy when they release a new phone. (I typically get a new phone every year.)

less than me... lets see I've had like 4 phones in a year and a half... I just like new tech lol. but what ever makes you happy then stick with it.

just ask for another replacement before you go... you might get luck this one time. i got me a replacment coming to see if ill get a newer one

The MT was my 3rd phone last year haha first I got the Rumor touch, and then right after i bought that they released their first android the intercept, so not to long after that I got that, and then in the summer i got the Triumph.
I have to say I like it I don't have any complaints really.
But I would stay VM until you know for sure if they have something new and exciting, I am hoping they will, I love getting new phones! haha
I have also read that sprint is pretty smart with using two of their companies against each other, those two being VM and Boost. They will release a really good phone through one and a couple not so great with the other, then release one good one with the other, and it repeats.. So I am kinda thinking that VM has something out there after the last two that are good but there are definitely better.. just my thought

for $ 25 a month I can't complain. ya sometimes facebook takes a little longer to load, but a little delay for NOT paying $ 80 a month with another carrier is worth it to me.

Maybe you should consider putting ICS on your triumph once it's out of alpha/beta status, that's what I'm going to do. Other users are saying it's like having a whole new better phone even if running CM7 Gingerbread.

I have been using it for a week or so. I wouldn't say it is that much better than CM7. I am liking it though. Once the CM crew get all the fun stuff added in it will be quite nice.

I meant that CM7 brings a whole new user experience (better touch screen response, battery life etc...) surely the final release of ICS will do the same or better. :)

Anyone have any rumors about what devices VM might be getting? I would stick with them another year if they put out a nice qHD device so I can give my dude my Triumph

Well I heard they were gonna be getting 2 pos zte phones, but it's been a while and still no word. I haven't heard any other rumor or anything. It's like everything about vm just died. So honestly I don't even have a clue.
