Root Is it time to root and debrand ?

My Virgin UK Desire is now over 12mths old so I believe it over the 12mth gurantee period.

Can I for free easily debrand the phone ? If so can someone provide clear and precise instructions.


Secondly, what are the 5 main advantages of rooting ?

Can someone point me in the direction of the an easy to follow guide ?

Do we need to backup before rooting ? If so, what is the best program and how ?

What are the 5 best root flavours ?

Read the all about rooting sticky in this forum. Read it over and over until you understand things. If you dont, then dont be afraid to ask. SU Root in particular has put a lot of effort into writing these guides/FAQ's, and would rather people ask about things and get it right to begin with, than to sort out something that's gone wrong through ignorance. I hope i don't sound too harsh. The members in this forum are a really friendly bunch, so dont be put off.
