Is it worth it to switch from _____?

I figured it might be nice to have a thread with a general "I switched from ____ to the GNex, and I love it!" Sort of advice thread.

So I'll start: Has anyone here made the transition from the Evo 3D to any version of the Galaxy Nexus? If so, was it worth it? Spec-wise, there are a few tempting features, but I think the biggest thing is ICS/Vanilla Android.
 
I switched from the Droid X. Primarily to get on the unlimited 4G gravy train before they killed the ability to upgrade and retain unlimited data. I also wanted a more mod-able phone.

I was not expecting it to be such a big upgrade. My tablet sits dormant most of the time now because the phone is so much easier to use than the DX. Web browsing is actually a pleasure on this phone.
 
I switched from an iPhone 4S to a Galaxy Nexus because of re-location for school. Both devices are great to use and each have their own pros/cons. My biggest gripe with the GNex is the quality of the camera, which is substantially worse than that of the 4S. I like the Google accounts sync and customization options that the GNex has to offer over the 4S. I noticed that the GNex is more prone to dust collecting at the recesses of the device, compared to the 4S - dust is one of my pet peeves :P Lovin' the screen size of the GNex over the rather small 3.5" 4S.

Am I happy with my switch? Well, to be fair, I didn't have much of a choice. But yes, I'm happy to be a GNex owner :)

How do you like the screen (besides size) compared with the iPhone? I liked the display model I played with, but I've never used iPhone or GNex enough to compare.

I'm gonna buy it straight up if I get it so I'm not stuck with Verizon, so I want to make sure it's the right choice. I'd wait for the Sprint version, but I don't really know what the timeline is gonna be for that.
 
I upgraded to the SGN after seeing the stunning screen quality and ICS however after a month of use I have returned to the Motorola Bionic. The constant force close from my favorite apps & lack of signal strength (huge issue) being the reason why. I guess I will shelf it for a month and see if there are any fix's. Really wish it would have been more solid.

From Incredible (19 months) to RAZR (1 week) to Galaxy Nexus.

ICS is, IMO, so much better than Gingerbread that the Galaxy Nexus blows them both away. Specs are similar to the RAZR, but I much prefer the design of the Galaxy Nexus as the RAZR was actually - I never thought I'd say this - too thin.

I love the Tbolt but the Gnex is nice and slim compared to the Tbolt with the extended battery.

The GNex display is sharp... 316ppi (GNex) vs. 330ppi (4S) - the difference in resolution quality is negligible. I have to admit that it was difficult to move to a lower-resolution phone coming from the 4S' retina display so the GNex was the perfect phone in that regards. At low brightness, you'll find that the GNex AMOLED screen will display solid colours as a fabric-like texture, rather than actual 'solid' colours (as seen on a 4S). This is due to the difference in screen technologies (4S uses LCD) so it's not a fair comparison to make, but you should be aware of it. Where the GNex AMOLED really excels over LCD is in direct sunlight - the display is still perfectly viewable :)

I'm not sure, but I think the Verizon version is different from the GSM version, so buying it straight up from Verizon may still limit your options for carriers... someone correct me if this is wrong.
 
I made the switch from the rezound to the nexus...And i like this phone but I am missing the rezound...Im gonna try to return the nexus to go back to the rezound...but if i cant i wont be that mad...

Yea that was my gripe the signal was bad for some reason and even had them swap it out. Now I have a 4s and its cause I really like apps on ios a bit more other than that phone was nice but just not as smooth as 4s

I don't think I would have jumped ship to Apple! Lol, the SGN from what I have been reading hasn't any signal issues as long as your in areas saturated with towers. This is my issue being on the outskirts of those areas. :(

Keep in mind that it might be your particular device. I went through 3 Gnex phones with bad reception, particularly in 3G areas. I experienced data drops, signal drops, constant buffering, etc. Now, with my 4th, near flawless in the same areas. My signal is as strong as any I have experienced with other phones such as the Rezound, 4S, etc.
