Is it worth setting up several email accounts?

Do you think its worth setting up several accounts i.e yahoo mail, gmail, home mail?

I notice its going to grab all the new emails and it doesnt let you view your old ones, you would have to go into the internet and into the email account to see those old ones

Also I want to prevent it from synching with my email too often and only want to manually pull in my email

If you use gmail there's no.point having any other. You have access to your entire mailbox through the app.

You can prevent.sync of anything in settings ,accounts and sync

Gmail is push though which means your phone doesn't check for emails. Gmail (the webmail) pushes the emails to your phone when it receives them

It is worth noting that a bug in Froyo makes gmail only check your primary account. For any secondary accounts you need to do a manual refresh.

This is bloody annoying. I have had froyo for about a month (sim free phone) and they still haven't sorted it.

Works fine on mine with 2 gmail accounts... just sent an email to each to be sure!

I have four email accounts .. Three yahoo and a gmail .. All mails come in, I get notification, and then see a list of the accounts with the number of new emails in each alongside.

Just to be sure, you are all using Froyo and have got two gmail accounts?

I have froyo, 2 gmail accounts in the gmail app and also, 1 of those gmail accounts also set up in the stock android app. I am using Froyo, however I am using an N1 port of it.

The 2nd gmail address is set up as part of the google partner site. So it uses gmail transport (smtp, pop, imap etc) but the domain is NOT gmail.com. however, it uses all the same settings, servers etc so this should make no difference whatsoever.

I use two email accounts - a gmail account and a hotmail account.

I could fetch my hotmail account via my gmail, but I haven't done this yet. My gmail is delivered instantly, obviously. I simply click the mail folder and it delivers me my hotmail manually.

i have a gmail and a yahoo. the yahoo is my junk mail acct that i use whenever some 'commercial' site needs an email, that way my legit email acct isn't always jacked with viagra ads. i have the yahoo set to forward to my gmail - voila easy push everything.
