Is it worth updating the Market to Google Play

The reason I ask is because I'm still using the old Market (2.3.3) as the newer one was simply too sluggish on my Desire.

Have they fixed that issue with Google Play or is it nothing more than a rebranding?
 
Mine updated this morning. Looks as if its just a name change with a new icon. Haven't noticed anything else new yet.
 
They did release an update to the Market up to 3.4.4 which fixed the laggy issues. It was as smooth as the old green one. Mine updated to the new Play store earlier today, and it seems to be no different to the 3.4.4 version apart from the name and icon.

I went ahead and updated it too. You're right, they fixed the lag.

I didn't think I would get it as I've removed the updater.

Can anyone else confirm if simi folder can see play shop? Mine only sees market which points to com.android.vending.apk but its com.android.vending-2.apk now

mine says market but opens up playshop
i had to go into the folder and remove market then re add it
 
I had already done that. Also symlinked. HaD you upgraded go launcher,at that point?

Go updated, release said something about market shortcuts and now it works
 
yeah i had already updated go.
however i had problems still with play untill i rebooted the phone then go removed to old links

I had this too - I had both Market and Play shop links. A reboot later I have play shop only, but with Market Icon!?!

Simi Folder see the Play shop, but with the correct icon?!?
