Is memory a problem with the Nexus S 4G?

I'm considering getting a Nexus S 4g, but I saw that it doesn't have an external memory slot. I had planned on using this as my mp3 player as well. Is space an issue? I wouldn't need to carry my entire music collection around with me, so I don't need a mass amount of space. 16g would honestly be fine, but what about apps and stuff?

Also, is their a good chance this phone will continue to get updates for awhile or will it be entering EOL soon.

Well, I think 16GB is enough for most people... Just depends on how much music you want/need to keep on the phone.

The Nexus S 4G should receive updates for quite some time, so no need to worry about that. Hell, the original Nexus One is still getting updates.. it just got Android 2.3.6 today.. that's the beauty of Nexus phones. You'll get updates for a long time :)

If you need to store a ton of music, consider Google music. All you need is a little desktop app and an android app and all your music will reside on the cloud.

I had some concerns at first but when i put it in the perspective of my former mp3 player was 4gb it was definetly enough for what I needed at any one time. But keep in mind the actual amount of space you will really have is about 14gb. Thanks to deceptive marketing tactics used by the entire industry as relates to storage capacities you start with less than 16gb. Next the "internal" partition gets 1gb of the space.

I know that the Nexus S 4g has 16 gig of memory and no external slot for additional sd card. But when you buy from the sprint website, there's an option adding a 16 gig sd card.

Does this mean you can have 32gig of memory if ordered from Sprint?

There is NO optional 16gig card or slot, 16 gig is what you get and that is plenty

I use my NS4G as my player thanks to google music. The load times are negligible with a decent 3g signal, and i don't notice them when connected to WiFi. I have ALL my music with me, ALL THE TIME! Since Google gave me this solution, I haven't worried about not being able to add an SD card. I shoot video and snap pictures of the kids and the dogs all the time... Once in a while, I'll plug in my phone and dump it all to my computer, or upload to my dropbox. I've never come close to running out of space.

If you use "the cloud" (amazing tool that it is) memory is NOT a problem on the NS4G.
