is metro really pushing 2.2?

There's no point in waiting for an "official" 2.2 on the Ascend. It's vaporware at this point, and you can bet that Metro is just waiting until they bring out a shiny new phone so they push all of us to upgrade to that.

not on website but on phone; go to the metro app store on your huawei and you will see the update there next to other metro apps.

have you tried downloading it? im currently on cm7, but i should revert to stock and check it out just to see, lol

No, i haven't yet; I need to back up my files first. I might do it tomorrow. By the way, do I need an app to back them up? if so which one should I use?
 
I'm already running the latest CM7 rom build and could not be happier. Why revert to stock,download the 2.2 from Metro and risk having issues getting the phone rooted and reflashed because of the update possibly locking the phone.

I have read about those on the TOE 2.2 that had difficulty getting the phone rooted and when they did they had a tough time doing anything else.

NOT worth it to me. Too much possiblity for getting on a road that can't be returned from. I'll stay on CM7 thank you very much. Besides, why take steps backwards? CM7 is 2.3.4.

you make some valid points. but still, kind of curious to see what its like. Besides, I heard that CM7 is awesome but its a bit buggy.
 
Nutmeg, that is why you are a guide and I am still a newbie trying to learn all of this.

tutubo80, I am running the latest CM7 05212011 and it is very stable. I had read about some stability issues on the earlier builds and with those who were trying to OC their phone past what is stable for their phones. Other than that I love this build.

CM7 buggy? em here n there maybe, but compared to stock, no comparison, stock is poop on you shoe in comparison.
 
I've downloaded the update. its a APK Package. if any one wants it just get it from the @metro app. its right there on the list. it didn't download on opera browser or metro browser, but i have buddy downloaded, so it went through using that. idk if i should update now, i don't wanna łoose my apps.
 
i downloaded the app - i opened the file - said phone is up to date. No update avalible. Such a fail.
 
I don't know about you, but I wouldn't trust this download. Why would this be released somewhere other than from MetroPCS?
