Is MHL plug n play?

I bought a MHL cable for Samsung Note 2, to hook up to my Samsung Plasma. However, it is not working. Is there a setting on the phone I need to change? Thanks in advance.

Hi

Normally pnp but the first time I used it I had to reboot my phone while connected. Then it worked thereafter. With my tv I have to manually set the hdmi input channel.

Pretty sure that the Note 2 uses Samsung's non-standard 11 pin output.

If you can't get it to work with a standard 5-pin MHL rig, this ought to help -

Yes

It does use 11 pin but there are convertors available if you have a 5 pin lead
