Can't pass the LG screen? Can't Eve load up phone? Using it as a paperweight? Then you have a bricked phone. To unbrick it u need the lgnpst program, drivers, and also programs like qxdm and qpst. But that's if you bricked it. The drivers I have are from the LG website. Be sure to pick the one with your operating system.
If you can access the SD card. Then its lgnpst which can't find it. And not your computer.
This is not always true. I had to install LGNPST and then the drivers to even be able to access my SD card on my desktop.
Let me start by explaining my setup, because it DOES make a difference. I have Jonedy's custome recovery, with Reppards CM7.1 ROM. ALL of my phones are setup this way, and NONE of them will recognize ANYWHERE but my desktop computer.
I had Windows XP installed on both my desktop and both of my laptop computers. When I could not get any of my phones to recognize in ANY of my computers, I decided it was time to upgrade my computers because the LG driver for our phone was for Windows 7, not Windows XP. So I spent a LOT of time investigating driver and software compatibility with Windows 7 for a LOT of my devices. (I run a small datacenter built from Slax, on a Dell rackmount server cluster. Compatibility is my most important concern!) Before I felt comfortable upgrading Windows, I upgraded one of my laptops because it is the personal machine I use almost daily. At the same time, I decided to upgrade my desktop, as I had purchased a 5x user-key from Microsoft. I upgraded my personal laptop first, and all went smoothly. I installed LGNPST, followed by drivers for our phone because tethering is my PRIMARY source of personal mobile internet. Plugging the phone in afterwords, resulted in "The drivers for your device could not be installed". But..... I JUST INSTALLED THEM!? Either way, no dice. I could NOT get LGNPST/Device Manager to recognize my phone. (Any of the three.)
Nothing I did made the laptop work. At all. But, I kept fidgiting with the desktop computer, as well as moving my HTTPS/IIS/FTP server over to Windows 7. (Do NOT ask why I didn't move to a corporate version of Windows or Linux. It was not necessary. Dont get the traffic.) Well, while I was setting SQL up for new queries, I realized that unless I was in Recovery, I could NOT enable USB Mass-Storage. So I uninstalled the LG drivers, then Android-SDK, THEN LGNPST! Then, I reinstalled the LG Drivers, Android-SDK, THEN LGNPST!!
As odd as this seems, I cannot duplicate the results. Using the same install disk, version of Windows, drivers, Android-SDK, and LGNPST, I CANNOT get my phones to recognize in ANY of my two laptops. This same setup works great on my desktop.
So, this leads me to believe that its an LG problem, much related to the "Force Close/Reboot" issues most of the first/second/third generation Optimuses have. Cant confirm this, but I believe you have one of the first gen Optimus M's and once its in "Fastboot" mode, its basically "F'd".
I sure hope I'm wrong, but having a 2.2, and two 2.2.2 Optimus's, I can literally tell the difference between the three phones. (By the way, its the 2.2 phone that does connect with Windows 7, LGNPST, and QXDM/QPST/CDMA Workshop. NEITHER 2.2.2 [Both downgraded, rooted/ROM'd] will pickup. This is the reason I HOPE I'm wrong.)
