Help Is my phone bricked?

ReidDC

Lurker
Well when i was turning my phone on I didn't realize that i had my finger on the volume buttons as well when i was turning my phone on. so after a few seconds a picture a yield sign with a exclamation point on it beside a little android came up. So i wasnt sure what this was so i sat it down, but when i picked it back up this black screen with green text came up. so i proceeded to take the battery out and when i put it back in and turned it on i noticed the vibrate that it does when your holding the power button lasted a little longer than usual then the motorola symbol came up and this same screen came back. i would really appreciate some help in order to get my phone back to normal please and thank you in advance.

also i tried putting a picture of the screen that its showing but it says the file exceeds the mb allowance.

Take the battery out again, and hold down the power button (with the battery out) for a few seconds. Then try powering it on like normal.

It sounds like you booted into the stock recovery. It's not bricked.

Well like i said in my original post i tried taking the battery out and putting it back in but that didnt work, the screen just came right back up. I also tried the suggestion of taking the battery out and holding the power button down without the battery then putting the battery back in and that didnt work either. :( Not liking what im seeing and hearing guys, cause i just got this phone for christmas. So im not even sure if i could another one anytime soon if this one is done.

HW Model =FD1
HW Version=PR5
SW Version=FD1-209B
RF band id=CDMA_BAND_01

Battery ADC = 3509

Hope im not putting any personal information on here with these numbers haha:o

Also can you get it to boot into download mode (Volume Down and Power at the same time)? You would see "polling, get oemsbl_mode=1" in white text starting to repeat itself down the screen.

no i dont have clockwork, and no it wont go into the white text when holding down the volume down and power, please tell me you have more suggestions
. :(

Are you holding volume down, then pressing power until it vibrates?

When you connect it to a computer, what happens? Does your computer recognize anything?

OK, good...
Try pulling the battery and see if it starts normally.

If not then boot into that again and do this:
1. Download this on the computer: http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/419789-fix-mobile-partition-fix-phone-wont-boot.html (Linked in first post).
2. Connect your phone to your computer
3. Open the "MOBILE:" drive on your computer
4. Replace the "image" folder with the one that was downloaded (you might have to unzip the download, can't remember for sure)
5. Unplug the phone from the computer
6. Pull the battery and restart.

The second option will basically reset your phone to stock and you will have to link your Google account and start fresh. (Your contacts should be linked to your Google account).

Glad it got you going. Not sure how booting into recovery would have messed it up like that, did you do anything besides set it down when it was in that stuff?

His battery was dead from the sound of it... That only shows up if your battery is dead which explains why his computer recognized because voltage was charging the battery. 3.5 Volts may sound like a lot, but the useable voltage on a battery is very small...

I'm having the same exact problem (not same exact because I am not getting the blank screen with green text, just the exclamation point screen) as the OP and I did this method quoted, and even made sure I used the correct image as I have the newer triumph, but it still boots to the exclaimation point screen. Can anyone help? I have a completely stock triumph and today my wife turned on the phone and said it was in this exclaimation point screen.

Then I these threads and did this method I quoted above, but unlike the OP, I'm still getting exclaimation point screen.

Thanks!!

P.S. Based on one of the comments here, I did fully charge the battery before trying the quoted process.

P.P.S. Does this mean it is factory reset time? I can just do that from the recovery menu, right?

Okay your phone is completly stock, correct? And you just turned the screen on (the phone was on already) and it was at the exclamation point?

You pulled the battery and held the power button down for about 30 seconds without the battery in?

Can you boot into recovery (Power, volume up, and volume down)?

Can you get it to boot into download mode (Volume Down and Power at the same time)? You would see "polling, get oemsbl_mode=1" in white text starting to repeat itself down the screen.
