Help is my phone dead, or is it fixable?

On Sunday afternoon when i went to turn the screen on like any other normal time the phone shut off and hasn't turned on since. When i have it plugged in it gets rather hot in the back on the upper corner between the headphone jack and the usb port, but doesn't actually charge the battery at all, and the red charge light is blinking at a steady pace of about 1 sec or so.

I've been reading the many threads about things like this but haven't been able to figure out if this is a fixable software issue or if it needs to be repaired. Ii'm thinking since the battery isn't charging it may need repair.

it's unlocked and rooted with stock os, and still s-on

I would definitely suggest to look into getting a new battery, sounds like it might be shot.

If that doesn't work definitely send it in to be looked at.

Yes i had that same problem what i did is keave ut charging, then after awhile itlk start charging but definitly means you may need a new battery

Try charging the battery in another phone and if it does the same thing its the battery if it charges and turns the phone on then its the phone

Pretty sure that the issue was dealt with last year.
