Is my screen broken :( pic included

Was checking facebook today and seen this background of mountains and tought, wow that looks nice. Few hours later copped on that its still there on other applications. Never noticed it before, only have my phone 7 days, treat it like royalty, never once dropped it, not a scratch on it so not sure why the hell this happened but have a look at the attachment and let me know what you think

Now the text is fine when it is over it, I've seen cracked lcd screens before and it doesnt look like that, its like the very back of the screen has a problem, as if you scratched the metalic surface off the back of a mirror, so the front is still immaculate, not one single scratch.

When i turn the phone off it still has it, when i take out the battery and then turn it back on and get the splash screen it still has it. So guessing it's hardware v's software but not sure. Let me know what you guys think?

Looks a bit like condensation, if you haven't dropped it I can't see it just happening out of the blue.

Try leaving it in a warm place for 12 hours or so and see if it moves/dissipates, if not then return it (ultimate pain in the ass I know).
 
I think you could of hit the nail on the head, I had it in my jeans pocket in the bathroom last night when I was having a shower and the room was full of steam. Also when I looked at it again the shape of the blob was different then the photo ... Took off the sim card protector, the battery protector and just left it a good bit away from an electric fire (far enough way that it didn't even get hot to the touch, and again the blob is changing shape) patches appearing in it so thats a good sign.

Is this a known issue with these phones, cause ok it was a steamy enough room but have had nokias for years and done the same with them without a problem? This is my first non nokia :) so releaved that its getting better as your right its a nightmare to send them back. Cheers for the advise
 
Putting infront of the heater did not help, it actually made it worse as it spread it out once it cooled down. So after some googling about moisture in any phone, I found that a home made way is to remove the battery etc, and put the phone in a zip lock bag with some rice and put it onto a radiator or some warm source... the rice will soak up the moisture.

Luckly I had some desiccant (damp rid / damp away) which can be bought in a hard ware shop for drying out areas before painting them. So I now have an air tight container, layer of desiccant on the bottom and some wire mesh (to keep the phone off the ground). Normally the disiccant works really fast especially in a small tub, so fingers crossed in 12 hours or so ill be updating with good news :)
 
Keep us posted! Must start keeping the dessicant I keep getting in handbags etc "just in case" :)
