Help Is Screen Burn-In grounds to request a replacement?

interesting, first i've heard of this possibility. how did it happen? any pic?

i'm thinking TEP might accept it.

Ive read it happening to a few people, especially those that used the desk clock or whatever through the night as its just a static display

Edit: maybe covered under your 1 yr manf warranty

When switching orientations, I notice a faint makeout of the notification bar still there.

Like I said it's happened to quite a few people, there is a thread over at XDA about having the clock app running while charging over night causing images of some clock numbers being burnt in. I would take it right back :)

Well, the authorized repair center fixed my display, but they jacked up my camera button. I'm going to take it back again.

I have the Accu Weather clock on page 2, it's not like that is showing all the time. Hopefully screen burn in doesn't have anything to do with that clock. Doesn't look like it so far.

I might be taking mine back cause I'm seeing the clock from the top bar whenever I flip the phone on it's side,,,,,starting to annoy me as well

Hey all,

Yes, unfortunately, our Epics are prone to burn in. The easiest way to tell is download or create an all white background and view it in the gallery (zoom in if you have to) and have it fill the entire screen. You will instantly see any signs of burn in.

I recently noticed a faint ghosting of the keyboard as well as a pretty distinct burn in of the battery and clock on the top bar.

I have TEP insurance, and after showing the burn in to a rep in the store, they had a new (refurb) mailed out to me in a day at no charge.

No problems at all..... I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Matt!
