Help Is Sunshine a Rooting App?

Hi Friends,
I was told that Sunshine was a rooting app that would work on an HTC One M8, is that true? Thanks in advance!

Sunshine app does not root the device it's used for S off. It should work for the M8, the rootninja site has more info on what devices it will work on and what android versions.

Oh, I see, Thank you. If Sunshine is used, a rooting app like Towelroot would 100% root an HTC One M8? Is that possible?

If your bootloader is unlocked you can just install TWRP recovery and use that to flash the root binaries or a custom ROM. No need to use a rooting app once your bootloader is unlocked.

Nah, there are cleaner solutions, especially for an M8.

As Hadron stated,Kingroot is not necessary:
Unlock Bootloader/root:

Then S-Off,though not necessary,it's highly recommended & can possibly save your a** should things go wrong at some point.

I can't say I have.
Even if you find one,ensure that it doesn't install junk apps/malware.

Wrong. As you were advised in another thread in this sub-forum:

Not all root apps work on all devices. They must be compatible. And used properly. Anything is possible.

Thanks for the answer. I asked again because I have been getting a no answer here and a yes there, The more opinions I got the better. Do you know of any one click rooting apps that have been known to successfully root Android 5.0? and when choosing those kind of apps, you have to make sure they are only compatible with the Android version you have or just your phone, or both?

Sure we've few posts where "One click roots" have failed...and people have ended up having to buy a new phone or tablet, however these were usually no-name cheapos.
