Help Is Swype 3.0 improved enough to Root to install?

Hey all,

Sorry to post a thread about this, I have searched but can't find anything.

I wondered whether anyone who has rooted and installed Swype 3.0 beta, can tell me whether it is enough of an improvement to warrant rooting to install it.

I do not want to root my phone, but cannot for the life of me find a keyboard replacement I like, and swype 3.0 boasts tap typing with correction as well as swype.

I have tried Hackers Keyboard, Swift Keyboard, Smart Keyboard, gingerbread keyboard, and HTC_ime thing, and they all have flaws.

I need a dedicated smiley key, a good prediction that doesn't keep suggesting nonsense words, good accuracy. None of the above kb's have all that, so I was hoping the new swype might.

Anyway, thanks for your time guys and gals.

Biff.

i didnt know u had to root to install swype? swype comes preinstalled on the SGS2 and after flashing the newest firmware, looks like im on swype 3.0 and its great. there are a few improvements but i loved it from the start so im good with it.. even if it didnt come preinstalled, i didnt know u had to root to install swype

There's also a beta of "touchpal" which is looking promising, though for now slideIT seems to be the best.

I've not tried swype 3 yet.
