Is the audio quality better or the same on the 2014 edition than the 2012 note ?

As subject, withe the speakers now facing away from you so just curious how the audio sounds

Not as good but acceptable. I have both, for the 2014 youtube and so forth it is fine for me but if I want to watch a mkv with dts encoding its a good pair of buds for me, but that was even true with the old note.

The old note had a much better midrange, many would also say bass but as a hard-core audiophile you will never get decent bass from any tablet or laptop from the built in speakers, the old note was just more ballanced and had more warmth so it came closer to what one would loosely call accuracy.

The 2012 version, which I had, directed the sound better because the speakers were facing you. Not a big deal to me though because I usually use headphones anyway. The upgrades on the 2014 outweigh the speaker placement to me.
