is The connect a good phone?

Hi all..I currently have an Optimus on Metro and was thinking of getting the connect 4G. Is this the best 4G phone that they have? I am also hoping (and praying ;0) that they get ICS on this thing. Any information is appreciated. I'm wondering if I should upgrade now or just hold out for the "Next one".

Thanks everyone!

i think for me and my usage this is the best phone. some people prefer the esteem because of the 0.3 inch size difference but i found the hardware to be very limited. small ram old generarion of processor. tft screen is nothing compared to the connects nova display and dpi. its reviewed by top sites as having a better screen than the iphone and i found it way better than the super amoled on galaxy devices except for the black contrast which they are famous for.
processor is great. idlike to say nomore overheating issues and if u underclock and debloat and j.d. you will great battery life on the stock rom.
1 gig ram is amazing for multitasking and the phine is very slim portable and sleek especially if u get a nice elegant case on it

yes theres hope for ics. its brother at verizon the spectrum is getting ics and i have alot of hope for gettting ics on this one

As far as metro goes the connect is is king. Even on the stock rom its super smooth transitioning from screen to screen. The nova screen is perfectly visible in direct sunlight (which is awesome here in florida). The only complaint ive heard is that it dosent do small text well but u can zoom with multitouch. The s3 snapdragon crushes the 1ghz hummingbird in the samsung attain (which is actually more expensive than the connect now lmao) and the connect has 1gbram double anything else on metros roster. Add in the fact that its 100$ cheaper than the esteem and 50$ cheaper than the attain its one of the cheapest s3 powered phones in the market. This is by far the best phone metros ever had.

ya the price is truly stunning. i think we can blame that on how badly most metro customers are educated. they see the esteem it looks nicer they think its better. unfortunately the connect doesnt have the best design or call quality

Actually I prefer the smaller design and the call quality can pretty much be fixed by DSP manager... The only real complaint I have is the abysmal battery life but the 3850mah battery on amazon is supposed to be sick and its only 20$ so I think I'm gonna give that a try

I am going to check one out in person before taking the plunge. I'm not ready to go back to contract at this point. Anyone in NYC on metro w a connect? I'm wondering how the coverage is in Manhattan. My current plan and hardware (optimus) is fine when it work but dead spots come up alot. I had att before this and it really wasn't much better in terms of dropped calls. I can't thank you all enough for responding to my vague and seemingly noobish post. Any additional info or feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!

why is esteem 379 dollars now wth when my connect does better but a lil more lower price da only thing that it got on the connect is size

see my previous post
its a supply and demand thing that has to do with the majority of metro's market

Spectrum isn't like the connect, the lucid is. Don't say it could maybe work from lucid because the lucid has a 4.5 in screen and I don't think any dev here has thr time or determination to convert hundred and thousands of pngs ;)

why connect is always compared to those phones??
Isnt the LG Viper 4G LTE from sprint the same as the connect???

What dsp manager are you or would you use?

I'm actually going today or tomorrow & getting the Connect. For the last 5 months I've had the Admire & I really just can't deal with this phone anymore. So, hi, I'm Anna, y'all will be seeing more of me around here :D

Holy crap! What a difference from the Admire! Yes, I would say this is a good phone. I have crazy good speeds & I'm not rooted yet & still have all my crapware. I'm so happy :)

What does DSP manager do to the call quality-is it an audio EQ thing ?
