Is the Cortex-A9 processor in Galaxy Note 1 and new smartphones of 2013-14 the same?

I want to know, is the 1 gb ram and A9 processor coming today are same as in 2 yr old Galaxy Note 1 or there is a difference of version and performance.

They run the same code, but they're not the same processor. The RAM, aside from speed, is the same.
