Is the DInc4g REALLY better than the DInc2?

I've looked around to see if this has already been addressed, but I've only seen one that kinda answers my question.

I currently have the original Incredible. It's my second smartphone and it's been great. I definitely love android HTC phones over the iPhone. I'm coming up for an upgrade soon and I had my heart set on getting the DInc2; especially since it'd be free with extending. Now of course something new and shiny had to come out with a majour OS update. Now I keep going back and forth between the DInc2 and the new DInc4g. I'm planning on going to Best Buy to see both side by side, but I want some input.

Basically what I want to know is if the newest in the Incredible family is really the biggest and brightest. It has nice enhancements to the camera (panorama, taking stills during video) and it's supposed GPS lock-on improvements that really has me taking notice. But besides that, the subtraction of a button and addition of a multitasker one, and Beats Audio, is it still worth it? If I was hardcore set on having the latest OS, I can always root. Though I heard that DInc2 might still be getting ICS eventually?

I am trying to convince myself to go with the middle child here. It'd be cheaper, the fact that it's also a GSM device is handy for down the road, and there doesn't seem to be really anything wrong with the phone. Just that it's "outdated".

Also, things like losing my unlimited data doesn't really matter to me. I never go anywhere near 2g anyway. I'm renewing my contact regardless. This is purely about which is the better phone.

Much faster processor, 4G, sharper screen, better camera, much better GPS, slightly better reception, more RAM, more storage, thinner, better speaker, and more.

Another thing to consider is how fast Verizon is rollng out their LTE network. Originally they were supposed to complete it mid 2013, but they're talking about maybe having it finished by the end of 2012.

And originally they were going to maintain their 3G network until 2015, but if they finish the LTE network early, they may shutter the 3G network early. Once that happens, who's to say how Verizon will handle their customers who're still on 3G (since the Incredible 2 is 3G only). Common sense would say that Verizon would offer you an early upgrade to be compatible with LTE. But lately most of their decisions haven't been customer positive, so who knows. Just something to keep in mind.

As far as it being GSM compatible, that's for countries outside the US. I don't know if it's possible to make it work on other networks here in the US (especially considering all of the US carriers are now moving towards LTE). Once the carriers' LTE networks are done, the plan is to go to Voice over LTE, or VoLTE. They were already testing it with the LG Revolution last year, so GSM here may be a moot point. Besides all of that, the Inc4G is also global capable, it'll be unlocked later with a software update like they're going to do with the Rezound & current Razr series.

I dont consider it outdated....we not talking about the specs of the Droid 1 or Eris here...lol. I see you put outdated in quotations tho...

Like a few posts above mine....its an upgrade in just about every area if talking purely specs. I have a Rezound....and I wanna replace it with this.

Like in the days of dial up....once you to a faster connection, you really wont wanna go back. Even if some treat LTE like wifi....use it only when needed....I feel the speed difference is worth it. But the LTE tech is better on this phone than what came out before, so the LTE experience should be better with the Inc 4G.
