Is the Droid X upgrade incentive happening or not?

another call another one telling me i have to wait contract ends in 2011 but upgrade is in november ... starting to lose confidence in this and im definitely not paying full retail for this phone hopefully they announce something soon

im confused...i spoke with cs today my primary will be eligible in december but she told me i can upgrade early so i can get the droid x on 7/15 wtf

Well it goes by when your contract ends that is the promotion so if your contract ends after dec 31 or w.e the only way they are going to move your upgrade up is if the rep you speak to does it so each person may get a different answer since not all reps will move the upgrade up for you

i raised hell because my Incredible replacement kept getting pushed back.

I cancelled my Inc order because the ship date is indefinite and am going with the Droid X.

Verizon gave me $50 off for my troubles since my Inc got fried.

how far into 2011 does your contract go? I'm thinking they hooked wolfdude up because he was only 2 days off. If your upgrade date is in November, I don't really see what you're so worried about. You have what? at max 2 weeks to wait after launch to upgrade.

Yeah maybe I was a lucky one since I was so close to being in 2010 on my contract date they hooked me up. Even if they wouldn't I would still be getting this phone.
 
I understand but I called a few weeks ago and was told I was eligible I didn't tell her to note my account and now I'm told no .. But who knows there could be a new promotion announced next week
 
Alright I was hoping I could get this cleared up. My contract end date is 12-14-2010. This means I am eligible. If I take advantage of this promotion, does my contract get extended 24 months from December so it would be 12-14-2012. Or does it get extended 24 months from 07-15-2010 to 07-15-2012? Does anyone know the answer of this?

It would be 24 months after you sign, so if you sign a new contract on 7-15-2010 then, your new contract end date would be 7-15-2012.
 
Is this program specifically for the Droid X or any smartphone? I've mentioned this on the phone with Customer Service and they acted like I was an idiot. So I have a 4 line family share plan. Can I walk into a VZW corporate store on July 15th, sign a 2 year contract on a secondary line that is up 12-14 (my moms line), get the Droid X, then activate it on my line (primary line)? The reason for doing it this way is my NE2 is available on my primary line in September. I've pleaded with VZW to move that date to July 15th but they refuse and continue to explain what the NE2 date is based on.
 
It is for ANY smartphone. and as far as I have seen there is no restriction as to whether it has to be a primary line or a secondary line.

Also if you buy it in store they can swap it to whichever line you want. It will use the upgrade on one line, but you can move it to the primary if you wish
 
Now is this promotion already in effect? Or is it a July 15th thing? Last time I talked to CS they said they have never heard of it and said it was probably made up on the internet. I guess I need to go into my VZW store and ask to see a Droid X, and then ask about this whole promotion.

A CS rep for VZW was willing to do it for me the day it was announced at the Droid X conference. just call back until you get someone who knows what's going on.
 
its a 3g smartphone promotion not just for droid x ... i once again was denied by CS i guess i got a little too excited thought they would give early upgrades for anyone wanting to get droid x but guess not ONLY if your contract ends in 2010 can you get early upgrade as what i was told, this all could change though on release day so who knows. i thought vzw was running the same promo att and apple did you want the droid you can upgrade early, they would sell a hell of a lot more phones that way

Yeah if your contract ends after dec 31 of this year you aren't eligible
 
im so confused/torn im not paying full retail for this phone so if i cant upgrade on release day with subsidized pricing by the time november rolls around there will be 203842083408234 more phones to choose from
