Is the evo worth the switch

Hello, I was wondering, with out bashing the Triumph, is the Evo v 4g worth switching to? I have had no problems with my MT,I did root my MT and am running CM7, but I like getting newer technology ( i know this is not the newest). Is the Evo a better phone? Is it much faster than the MT? Will I even notice the difference with 4g? I know some of these issues are just opinion and depend on what I use the phone for, but in general, do you think its worth the switch? Thanks for your time and input.

i think, yes. especially now with the recently radio fix and current sale price. htc sense is pretty neat too. the phone is overall high build quality. i don't use the 3d function much but it looks pretty badass on the back :D

Personally, the Evo V is much better phone, but then, I never had a Triumph.

What are your goals you hope to achieve by updating?
4g is a bonus, don't buy it for that as most people don't have access to it. However, 3g is actually slightly faster on it. 3d is a gimmick to most people.

On the other hand...
The Evo has higher screen resolution,a large aftermarket supply of docks, batteries and cases, GPS works, the camera works, the build quality is solid (though some will say the buttons are cheap). It's probably more comfortable to hold and carry too, due to a more rounded and blended shape.

As for speed, they are relatively evenly matched on apps that do not do multi-core. If multi-core, the Evo wipes the floor. Graphics power-wise, the Evo wins.

Other than the design, in terms of speed and power, the Evo V is actually still a very modern phone. It was quite ahead of the game when released and things haven't really made leaps and bounds since.

If you have good VM coverage, then yes. If not, then I'd look for another phone.
Also, don't rely on the coverage maps. They are not up to date in some areas. Ask around.

I came over from an MT. I loved the MT except for the useless GPS and problematic camera. My EVO gets GPS lock in seconds and while the camera is better, it seems to take 'dark' shots. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. GPS was a deal breaker for me and the MT.

For me , the cherry on top is 4g. I get a few bars on the 4g signal meter but can regularly hit speeds of 9mb download. It's so fast. The network is still a little spotty but it was with the MT.

I say go for it. I'm happy I did.
