Root Is the Sequent OTG capable?

I want to know first if this thing is even capable of acting as a usb host... i want to do alot of stuff using this OTG cable i found.

I have a ton of ideas to try ranging from the mundane all the way up to engineering some electronic control systems (one of which i may have patented) for around the house among other things.

Does it work on our phones?
 
Damn you ZTE!

I used chainfire's Usb Host Diagnostics app from the Play Store and the only test failed was for 3rd party app access... so at least the software and firmware support is there.

Maybe its time for a new phone... I may look into whether the Warp 4g is easier to set up for usb OTG...

I have a really great idea though. Cant say much but in a vague description i could say: anyone who has an OTG capable Android phone/tablet and the other part of my plan can use the product i want to make. And that number is about 60% of American adults times however much i might sell them for.

My idea doesnt really apply to the end user directly though... my product will be marketed to the manufacturers that build the 'mystery product' which my product will be fitted and integrated into... plus its kinda something that as an American, yiud be stupid not to own in this day and age.

Thats seriously all i can say at this point... but i need a dang test phone! This is bs!
 
Well, I found the only way my Nexus 7 tablet could be accessed, was with an OTG cable, and an 8GB stick, with "Stick Mount" installed on the tablet.

This way works where USB connecting no longer works on the WinXP desktop.

I've assumed the same would work on the Phone, why not?
 
Well, I have an OTG cable, a Sequent with OTG support built into the kernel (Thanks downthemachine), and a number of various sized flash drives. No go. I tried all the different apps out there for OTG...nothing. I truly hope someone proves me wrong because I want OTG badly.

Thanks Super, did not know there was any chance that this would not work if I ever needed it to.

Now I need to try it myself .... nope, your right.

I'm again clear on the concept, assumptions only make an ass of U and I.
 
I really wish we had it too. I want to get my plans drawn up but until I get the sparkfun kit and an otg capable device there's no point lol
