is there a dock?

[cool_kyle_3000]

My dad has a droid and he can dock it and it turns into a weather station/clock for your nightstand. My question is do they make a dock for the captivate?

Yes. It's on the Samsung website. I got mine from eBay. 34.99, shipped. You would also need the "Desk Home" app by Samsung on the market for the desk clock to activate when the phone is put in the dock.

lookie here: Samsung Mobile Unveils new Captivate Docks

though if you're after a dock that turns it into a weather station or something like that then i dont know, i dount that is purely down to the dock and must involve an app of some sort

ya welcome!

Yeah pretty sure all the Captivate dock does is lock it into landscape and auto-launch the "Desk Home" app if present.

I have one. Yup, auto launches Desk Home. Shows time, weather. Access to things like Gallery and Music files.

What they don't tell you is it prevents you from making a data connection with your PC. So if you want to access your SD card storage or use Kies - you'll have to directly attach the USB cable to your phone (not thru the dock).
