Is there a magnetic charger for DROID X2?

My dad bought a phone pouch that uses magnets to stay closed. He put my phone in it and a message in the notification bar said "connected to multimedia station" and the screen turned sideways. I thought the dock for this phone used the USB port to do this. Or am I missing something? My question is, since the phone can detect magnets, does it have the ability to charge this way, like the Touchstone does for the Palm phones?

Several of the Droid phones use magnets in the phone and docks to recognize that it is in an "official" dock and thus change it's ui.
