Help Is there a SD card max size for Incredible?

I'm trying to install a 16 G card (having read that on the Forum as the practical limit) and can't get the PC to see the new card so that I can try to format it. Any ideas? Apologies if I'm missing something hugely obvious: I have mounted the card as USB drive, turned the phone off and on, but so far no joy.

Many people use 16 G cards so it's not a size issue. Do you have USB debugging enabled? Might try that. Also, are you looking for it as a drive under "My Computer"? That's where it, and the internal storage should both be showing up.
 
If for some reason you're still on Android 2.1, max read is 32GB, and max format (on the phone) is 16GB. Since 2.2, 32GB can be read and formatted on the phone. I'm using a 32GB on mine.

Just put the card in the phone, go to the home screen, then hit settings. From there, hit SD and Phone storage. Unmount the SD card, then the format option will become available. Format it, and you're done.
 
Thanks to iowa and media for replies. I've done all those things you suggested. I think I've got a bad card.
