Help Is there a way to force 3G on the Verizon G3?

Is there a way to force CDMA Only on the Verizon G3? I tried using the Thunderbolt LTE On/Off app but it wasn't compatible.

Why are people wanting to turn off LTE?

I don't know about anyone else but I get terrible LTE reception where I live:

...despite the fact that Verizon says that they have turned on XLTE in my city on their website. Many time LTE will just refuse to send/receive data when I try to browse or watch a video and CDMA offers a much better signal. Also when I want to go for a walk when my battery is low I would rather have it on 3G to conserve the little battery I have left.

It is not like anyone wants to permanently disable LTE.

There's got to be an app that tells you what frequency your phone is using to connect to the tower. That's all that XLTE is, just a different band.

There definitely is an app for that and that app is called LTE Discovery on Google Play. I used the app today at home and found that here my G3 runs on the non-XLTE band, band 13. on the other side of town I got the XLTE band, band 4. I find it concerning that Verizon would deploy XLTE in an area that had no congestion issues at all (the other side of town) while refraining from deploying XLTE in an area that has alarming congestion issues.
