Thanks. Looks Like That Is Going To Be The Way Forward For Me.
Will I Life All My Apps Etc?
Life Should Say Lose, But I Cannot Select It To Change It
Thanks for heads up.Long story short... yes you will lose all your apps. It doesn't take to long to download them again (an hour if you have to do everything manually) and there are ways to back everything up to make your life simple. I recently reverted from JB to ICS using this process myself.
The only thing you MUST do is backup anything you don't want to lose (pictures, music etc.) for obvious reasons.
Now spread your wings and fly from the nest :trytofly:
The poster wants to know if rooting will lose all his apps. I assume he is asking if it does a factory reset or if you lose any apps downgrading maybe because app data won't be comparable with ICS once running JB.
What is so bad on JB? Don't hear that many complaints.
Honestly, every forum should have a "This is how you revert back to previous state after update" stickie. Isn't this question asked after EVERY update for EVERY phone?
Look at the date, this is an old thread.tenchy, could you perhaps explain a little more about your issues with JB? Rolling back to ICS and having to re-install all your apps seems like a pretty extreme solution, perhaps we can help you with your issue without you having to revert your software.
Look at the date, this is an old thread.
The OP already started another thread hating on JB. Out of all his problems, it was pretty much narrowed down to Swype being the culprit. However, he continued to blame JB for not supporting Swype. You can even see that his issues are more about typing and text box selection, which is all keyboard related.
Here's the other thread he started at the same time.

swype was indeed the most affected, but the whole phone is affected.
except that JB didn't screw up nearly all of the default shipped apps.... or in fact any of them that I have seen.
I cannot locate your other thread, but EarlyMon answered and explained why it's behaving the way it is (from the OS update). I believe what's recommended when this happens is to factory reset (as long as your not rooted, then you reset from the recovery).
Just been re-reading earlymon's post.
A lot of hassle for sure. That said, if it fixed a lot it would be worth it.
To be clear, a factory reset is essentially wiping the entire phone apart from the current version of operating system, yes?
