Is there an app switcher like in iOS?

Is there some kind of app switcher, kind of like an Alt-tab for windows, or like pressing the home button twice on the iphone and you get a small horizontal list of open programs along the bottom?

Also anyone know the status of ATT releasing the multi window update?

Hold down the home key

This.

This app also seems to be getting rave reviews, if you just want a shortcut widget or button:

What's funny is, I know on the HTC EVO LTE (Sprint's version of the One X), I actually hated the fact that the menu button was replaced to be used as a multi-tasking button (showing most recently used apps). They did that similarly with other ICS phones and I didn't like it at all. That was the one thing that I really liked better on the SGS 3 and now will like on the Note 2, since they didn't follow the crowd and kept the menu button. I use the menu and back buttons so much more, whenever I need to check if there are additional settings in an app.

Thank you guys, wow I love that feature.

Yup. It's part of the reason why I get puzzled when people have told me they feel iOS is better for multi-tasking. Also gave me the impression that maybe those people weren't really given a full tutorial on Android's multi-tasking capabilities.
