the main reason why i joined AF was because vine had come out today. unfortunately it doesnt support my device. so was going to see if i could update my android version someway to 4.0 or higher. apparently thats what i need in order to download. but i just want to ask if all re-rooting my phone and getting a custom firmware or whatever would even be the only option to being able to not only download vine but other apps that arent supported by my device.

Probably, unless someone has made some kind of port of Vine over on XDA which is very very very very very improbable.
