Help is there anything I can do?

still learning about all of this stuff, I now have my Indulge working great using Basix w Electric Sheep.....

Anyway a while back I bought a $3.50 replacement std battery off eBay..seller wound up sending me two more at n/c before I finally figured out all of them are going to give the non supported battery...cant charge message.

I do have an external cradle charger I use for them but I was kinda hoping with all the mods that there might be a way to charge them inside the phone now. Is there?

I am new at this however I think if you go into recover mode if your phone is rooted you can select advanced options and there is a battery reset command. I am not sure if this will work but you can give it a try. make sure your battery is 100 percent charge from your other method before doing this and unplug the power cord immediately after you reset. Then you must let the battery drain completely until the phone turns off

(the non supported battery) messa is a broken battery...
i had a similar issue about 2 weeks ago i think , but was with a extended battery that i got off a metro store close to my house...i use the battery then when was time to charge i keept getting that same message ' the non supported battery ..woldnt charge on the phone or via usb either...no cpu or wall,etc....went back to the store the guy pluged in the computer infront of me and he saw the message....exchange for a new one....u wont be able to charge,im sorry...but for that price u should prolly knew that was something wrong with them....at least you didnt spend much...maybe im wrong,maybe somebody had this issue and got it fixed...but as far as i know....its a falty battery and u wont be able to do anything about it , its garbage...if the transaction was made on ebay u can always file a complaim, sometimes if the person is honest u get your money back, but sometimes ( i think in this case ) the person already knew the shit was bad and prolly wont give a shit if u report it or not, n-ways i dont like to sound off...but im just awnsering your question with my experiences...my extended batterys cost me $10 eatch brand new...i got my self 2....no worries about runing out of battery anymore...plus i have another 2 standards but i havent touched them since i started to play with the extended ones...good luck and go for the extended battery cause u wont regreat, this phone without extended baterry kind sucks!

If I remember correctly, there's another Samsung device (conquer?) Which has the same battery dimensions.however, the indulge has a line of code that prevents it from charging non-supported batteries buried deep in its programming.
We've tried taking it off before, but to no avail.
So no matter if the batteries are good or not, the phone won't charge them unless they were made specifically for it. Sucks, but that's Samsung for ya!

Thanks I figured it was something like that, they work just fine after charging in the cradle it just gets old sometime.

yes me 2...i think all the indulge heavy users should run extended battery...will avoid alot of stresssssssss...lol...
i used to go around ,loosing hours and hours tryn to find a piece of app to make it last longer,buyn,etc...no more...i mean i paid only 10 bucks with the cover at the metro store, even if is 16 like the post above,i think is still worth big time...that dosent mean u should ignore the phone problems and stop re-searching for a better way to make the phone better, but at least gives you more confor to do so,and less stress, use the litle ones for spare when u runing out of bettery and dont have much time to do a full charge etc...i have 2 extended and to standards...witch is no need once u have one extended is enough if dont use the phone alot, in case u do, a spare battery is suficient...the reason i got 4 is because i already had 2 standard before i got the 2 extended...once again,i think every indulge user should spend and extra few bucks and get a new extended battery...never buy used ones...
