Root Is there just a plain one click root?

Still the same, tries to install new hardware but no driver found. I've been beating my head against the wall trying to figure out if there was anything i did when this first started happening. It finally hit me, i did enter a prop setting that was suggested to me in the beginning, not sure if that did anything or not. Let me try to find it again and I'll post it.
This is the one
setprop persist.sys.usb.config "mass_storage,adb"but when that didn't work, I set it to "setprop persist.sys.usb.config,adb". I was told that would put me back where I was. Is this mess something I caused by not doing more research? :(

I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to the build prop, but when I get off of work in the next few hours, i'll do some research and see what I can find out.

But the sounds of it, the build prop being messed with is what's causing it.

This is from mine.

What I would do first, make a copy of the prop, place it anywhere on the internal or External and try backspace deleting the configuration adb leaving it exactly as my attachment above and save.

If it starts to act up after the reboot then replace with the copy you made.

Is the build prop your editing look like my earlier attachment or like this one :

Pulled right from the rom zip file and not within my system.

Edit: HA! I was looking in the wrong prop file, disregard my first screenie. The 2nd is how you should do it.

There should be 4 persists. If there isn't, manually edit the build prop as above shown.

After setting the persist.sys.usb.config to mtp, I now have to persist entries; one is .config adb and the other is .config MTP,adb. Should there be 2 entries and if not, how can I remove one of them?
I ended up finding a Build Prop editor, found the default location for the usb and just saved the default again. It worked, I was back were I started, then I downloaded USB Switcher and whala, logical drives. Man, I really do appreciate all of your time invested in helping me. I've been out of work since July of 2010, no more unemployment but headed back to school for 21 months at 54 thanks to the VA. If I could, there would definitely be some donations coming your way, just don't have it. What you do have from me is my heartfelt gratitude for your help and input. If anyone else reads this posting, please if you can do it, donate for any help given by these folks. Many thanks to you my friend!

That's great!

I hate that it took as long as it did to pin-point the location of the mass storage problem, but at least your up and going now.

On a side note, it is a bummer about the VA and having to go back to school due to that. Good luck!

No donations needed as well, just a simple thanks button will suffice good enough for me :)

I think it might have been a hiccup when you was rooting since I didn't have this problem using the same method.

But we both learned something new or at least I did :p

Happy Holidays and be safe!

Hey DS,

Do you or anyone there know where deleted photo files from the camera folder will end up(hidden folder, etc.) or what file ext. they would go under. I've used 3 seperate recovery programs and never see them pop up? Thanks in advance.

PS I never took another picture since they were deleted so know, oops no other camera folder was created.

Unfortunately as far as I know, once anything is deleted as far as pictures from the sd card(s), they are gone. They may be recoverable but to my knowledge, I don't think they are.
