Help Is this a way to root android 4.1

I saw this while I was looking for info on what time jelly bean was coming for Verizon. Came across this quick thing to do to get 4.1 I think. So is this a cool way to get. 4.1? I never rooted a phone before so that is why out am asking so I do not brick my phone.

My guess is no. It is a link to the GSM Nexus version of Jellybean; my guess is that your cell radios will not work after installing it, and possibly other problems as well (including the change that it might brick the phone).
