This has nothing whatsoever to do with the spectrum, but since you guys are my most trusted source of technical support, i figured I'd ask you (also, the Nook forum here at AF is a ghost town).

Does this site, and what it claims to do sound legit. It says that by downloading and running an exe on pc (using microsd to sd adaptor in my case) I can make my Nook hd+ a fully functional android jellybean tablet by inserting freshly flashed microsd card into my nook.

note to moderator: sorry for the off topic thread, but the Nook forum is really no help... it's abandoned

My advice... Don't ever buy an android sdcard.

If this forum isn't active... Try over at XDA. There's probably a guider for making your own boot able SD card

In fact here's a beta cm10 SD for it...

Yeah, don't pay for stuff that is open source. It doesn't take much to make your own SD card and the knowledge you will gain will help with the card eventually has an issue of some sort. In all reality, I'm wondering how they are not getting slapped with lawsuits for selling open source software and also not posting the source code used to make it.

for one they arent selling the software, they are selling the sdcards already setup etc etc, blabla. That is the same place that 'was' selling sdcards with CM* on em too until CM found out and had them stopped.

And with Android, you are not required to release the source as its under the apache license, kernel source is under the GPL and should be released. But that place isnt doing nothing more than putting others work on the sdcard. If they have the creators permission or not is another story. ;)

Umm... you sure on the PG? Their downloads are all protected with a $19.95 purchase price. Also, they are still using CM in their builds. Even their forum (help topics) admits to that.

Well last I heard they were suppose to cease putting cm on their sdcards. I'm not a member of the cm team so I just read the same shyt you all do and maybe catch a few things on irc. lol

Either way I wouldnt buy shyt from em for the reasons you posted and they just seem underhanded to me. ;)

Oh and since CyanogenMod is also under the Apache License, anyone is free to take it and do with what they will. Most likely why N2a is still doing it. ;)

I got my OG Nook Tablet to dual boot with one SD Card. It's pretty simple and straight forward to do. Hit me up if you need any help with it :) Succelent on XDA side on Nook Tablet forums posted a good guide, this is another one I've seen, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2042995 . I've yet to try it but it seems rather the same. I'd just do 1 system partition for now. Hope it works , PM me if you have any troubles, I'd be more then happy to help. :) Later

Here's the problem with sites like this...

AFAIK... You can't sell anything that's licensed under either the Apache or GPL licenses unless you actually modify the code in some way. I doubt they do. Usually these companies circumvent that by saying that they're selling a service. Hence the money you pay then is for the sdcard and the service of then doing the work.

Here's the part they don't mention though... They arent going to provide you with updated sdcard images.

My advice? Take that money and buy a decent quality sdcard (the one they'd give you will be cheap generic brand crap anyway). Go do a little reading on how to partition the card and flash your own images to it. With a decent sdcard you would see better performance than you would from a company like this, and you'll know how to upgrade the card. And really... Who's going to never want to update their system? And the first time you do that all you have left is a generic sdcard that you paid too much for. Just keep in mind, if you're running android off of an sdcard... you want a class 4, I'd stick to Sandisk myself.

On a side note I wish the spectrum booted it's sdcard slot before the emmc like nooks do... Ah how I love my nook color and nook tablet for that reason.

I updated the original link I provided with leaplinar's guide for dualbooting stock on emmc and CM10/10.1 on internal. It's a bit more updated than one I previously posted.
