Root Is this normal?

I just rooted my nook. And when I click on the softkey circle thing with arrow it comes up with the menus on the bottom. and the only one that works is the home. The rest say "unable to execute as root".

I am also having issues syncing my email. I am not sure if I just have alot of emails or something is wrong. When I click on the gmail it says I need to sync it. In the top of the screen it says Waiting for sync. Maybe I am not waiting long enough?

First off, have to mention, try rebooting.

Do you have an app called superior permissions installed and running? Thats the app the gives actions like this root access to be able to function. The first time you click a given action, a window will pop up asking to give permission, click the check box to always allow, and click allow.

The Gmail thing, I dont have a clue, some extra info would be helpful, which ROM did you flash, or stock B&N ROM, etc.

I just unrooted and went back to stock. And I am going to reroot now. I am thinking that something didnt go well with my syncing my youtube account up. (that would not work either).

As for the softkeys I was checking out the superuser menu and I kinda figured that part out. But the gmail/youtube thing kinda bothered me. And I did want to start messing with roms until I am at least correctly at step one.

I will post here on how round 2 goes.

Thanks

I Rerooted and put a CM7 rom on and it is great so far.

I am still learning so far I would like to figure out how to overclock it a bit yet. but that is minor.

I am glad that I am messing around with this first. That way I will have a clue.

UP next droid x.
