It says it's been available since the 21st of December, which I think is before the I9023 was released, so it's most likely the AMOLED version. I'd still contact them and ask before buying it though, since it could easily be lumping all Nexus S models into this single release date.

I'm a bit disappointed to the fact that in Europe except for the UK, the Nexus S does not come with super AMOLED but S-LCD instead. Ok now, besides the better color quality of the AMOLED is there any chance that the S-LCD will have a lesser toll on the battery life ? If that's the case I wouldn't mind sacrificing vivid color screen and good viewing angles for a better battery life.. but if amoled is superior to s-lcd in all respects then what the hell where they thinking ?
No from what I've read you sacrifice more battery life on the Super amoLED than the S-LCD so it isn't the best of both worlds. The heat that comes of my amoLED is astonishing at times when the brightness is jacked up. Apparently the amoLED is very efficient in its own right. Each to their own but having experienced the it first hand and seeing the comparisons it is worth the extra money and time trying to locate it.

If the display with S-LCD is as good as the one I had on the Desire, you won't be disappointed. It won't have quite as high contrast or black levels, but the colour, sharpness, and colour gradations should be better than the S-AMOLED model. I was hoping for the S-LCD here in Canada, but we got the S-AMOLED version instead. I'm not really disappointed as it's a decent screen, but being a photographer I like a little more accuracy in my displays.

In my opinion, the SLCD colors are slightly better than the Super AMOLED's. Because OLEDs emit their own light, there is some bleed through from one pixel to the next, causing the color to sometimes look a bit saturated, thought they do look nice and vivid. SLCD generally has a sharper look to it.
The benefit in the Super AMOLED screen is battery savings. Any black pixel uses nearly no power to display, and darker pixels will use less power than brighter pixels. In other words, if you're displaying an image that's half black and half white, an AMOLED display will consume about half as much power as an all white screen, but SLCD will consume the same power no matter what is displayed since it's all going to a backlight.

There was a very detailed power consumption test done by a lab that was posted in another forum a while back. IIRC, the result came down to what's being displayed:
SLCD uses more power on darker screens because the display uses more power to block the back light from coming thru.
AMOLED uses more power on bright screens, and on darker/black screens, uses very little power.
So when it comes to battery performance, the test showed that neither has a clear advantage over the other.
