Root Is this right?

The Cure

Newbie
managed to downgrade my branded Dhd to S/W 1.32.405.3, baseband 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.15_M3.Are this figures right? please confirm before I proceed. Thanks in advance.

All of the root guides refer to a build number otherwise the same as yours but ending in a 6.

That said, I think theres a good chance that the rooting app will work for you. Give it a try - if it doesn't work, its not going to damage anything.

Thanks for the response Xyro.what about the M3 ending on my baseband will that be alright as I always see M2 on most baseband ending. If i start rooting which one do you think is the best ROM for a noob like me?

LEEDROID......JENKINS!!! lol LeeDrOiD is as close to stock as you'll get but with amazing tweaks and not half as complicated for adding certain features and animations as Android Revolution is. Everything can be found in the ROM Packs thread at the top of the forum ;)

I don't think the M3 matters at the moment. Generally though, you'll need to flash a new radio once you've installed your new ROM.

LeeDroid and ARHD are popular Sense ROMs, there are complete guides to installing them here: http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-...ks-leedroid-arhd-miui-updated-06-09-11-a.html

It also gives instructions for installing a ROM called MIUI which is pretty different from most others (there is no app drawer, all your apps are on your homescreens) so it might not be to your taste. It is pretty popular though so there's no harm in giving it a whirl.

There's also CM7 which is pretty much Vanilla Android with none of the Sense nicities (it's a lot faster and more customisable though).

Edit - Took too long to type

Thanks experts. I,ll try leedroid then as my first ROM. Is there a step by step instruction for installing Leedroid 3.3.3?

Yep, have you rooted and got S-OFF, ENG S-OFF etc yet? You'll need to get those before you can go any further. It's easy, downgrading is the hardest part.

There's also a link in my post giving download packs (containing instructions) for LeeDroid, ARHD & MIUI. :)

Yes each of the packs contains a README which outlines every step you need to take so long as you are already rooted, ENG S-OFF and Radio S-OFF with Clockworkmod Recovery installed :D

yap now rooted, radio S-off,ENG-off and clockworkmod recovery installed. Now ready to install my first ROM. Wish me luck guys.

You can, but it's probably better to do it manually (as instructed in the download pack) as that will format your partitions to EXT4.

I appreciate it does look a tad daunting, but the instructions are pretty thorough. I'll be about for a bit if you get stuck with anything too.

YES!!! Got my very first ROM (LeeDroid) installed.Thank you El Presidente,stublake13 and Xyro for the help and support. I just need to explore what,s inside this ROM. Again thank you for time, very much appreciated.
