Is this SAFE to do?

Firstly, I am COMPLETELY NON SAVVY when it comes down to phones and internal hard drives ect...I simply just talk on them! However, I am having a problem with my motorola triumph's phone storage. I read on another post exactly what to do. All worked out except for the last bits...i was told to install the es file manager thing which I did. It said to mount a file under 'other settings' I don't see a tab named other settings so I didn't mount anything...It also said to click the '\' symbol which I didnt. Is it safe to just go under 'search' and type in 'alog' then delete the folders named alog? Or must I follow the instructions completely before doing so?
I know, I know...just follow the instructions!!! But it sucks when you're lost and don't see what everyone is talking about. So Frustrating!!!
Hope someone can help! Thanks!

Go into settings on ES File Explorer. Then scroll down to where the Others tab is. You'll find what you were looking for.

I'm still not seeing it. Under settings im just seeing tabs: password settings; default settings; backup settings; etc...no "other settings" tab. Ugh

Also, ive done this before so my phone is already rooted. Ive just ran out of space again and need to delete the 'alog' folders again...

The new ES File explorer has a totally new interface.

Hit menu, Tools, Root Explorer, Mount R/W and select / .

Then you should be able to find the alog files in /Data.
Delete them, and then later (after reboot) long press the ones that are back, select More and then Properties, and Change Permissions to make them read only. (remove the W).

You should be good... They won't keep growing after permission change and reboot.

Thank you so much! Quick question, the part where I select / there is 2 options RO and RW then there is a list of other options like /system, /hidden, /hiddendata So, which needs to be checked under RW and RO? Then where would the /data be located? Sorry for all of the questions. This is like rocket science for me...super fusterating!!!

ok...
/ is the root directory.
ro means read only... you can look, but can't touch.
rw means read-write... that means you can modify (ie delete) files.
/data is a directory under /

in short, select rw and then got to /
scroll down to data directory and open it.
That should be where the alog files are.

If this isn't clear, post back.
