We recently discovered that Sprint's HTC Hero is showing a static message which reads CDMA - EV-DO Rev 0 in its status settings whether or not the device is on Rev A speeds. In most cases, the device is performing on Rev A speeds even if the message reads Rev 0.
This message error is not impacting the performance of the device in any way and will be corrected with the next maintenance release. The handset is fully capable of EV-DO Rev. A data speeds and you will receive these speeds in Sprint
I've already seen everything that Sprint had to say and what HTC had to say.
Now will someone tell me why we are seeing differences? They cant be "the same" or they would all have the same problem. Seems pretty straight forward to me.
I guess I havent made myself clear.differences as in speed or what the phone says?
I guess I havent made myself clear.
I would like to know what is different in the phones that are only reporting back Rev 0 v/s. those that report back Rev A.
Explaining it away as a visual bug is all fine and well, but surely there is a difference between them that causes certain handsets to experience this.
it can be many different things, from shipping times, to getting stuck on a specific visual label. anything.

I think Edaze means what specific glitch in the software is causing the "non-google" ones to show the Rev0. I too would like to know, because i don't want some quick fix from Sprint that merely changes the icon to say RevA...even if its not.
