Is your volume rocker loose?

Just got an exchange this morning from tmobile and i noticed that the volume rocker was just as loose as my 1st one straight out of the box. i know it doesn't affect the phone itself its just really pissing me off that i know its there and i can feel it when i hold it sometimes. i know people have different concepts of things feeling loose but i would just like to know your opinions on your devices. dont get me wrong i love the phone itself im just worried in the long run how the rocker will hold up
 
My power button has a very slight jiggle to it, but the volume rocker has such little slack that you'd need a very precise instrument to measure it... Considering that those buttons are part of the cover and actuate switches that are part of the body of the phone I don't think it's a sign of a problem. If your volume rocker has some slack that doesn't mean the actual switch isn't in perfect shape.
 
hey man, i work for T-Mobile and I had a guy in yesterday with the same issue, his volume rocker was actually in upside down. take the back off and it should come out and flip it around and it should be fine.. thats strange though. I got mine 2 days ago and mine is fine so its just with a few of them i think

i havent looked inside the battery cover yet,so your saying the volume rocker button will fall out,for me to turn it upside down when i remove the battery door? lol i dont understand
 
All my buttons are very easy to touch but not too much of a problem because I don't press anything other than the power button

well theres only 2 buttons on the entire phone the power,and the side volume rocker. my power is nice and firm but the volume rocker moves when u tap and jiggle it. i believe this is the way they were all manufactured but it sucks cause everything else on the phone is rock solid except my stupid volume rocker :mad:
 
mine seems as perfectly solid as any other phone I've had.. I could jokingly say .. "what wrong with you ? is your rocker button loose ?".. but if I was you, and it seems to be a problem.. take it to the store and exchange it.. If it's a "common" thing, my phone seems to be the exception, so maybe like common sense, it's not that common.
 
Pull off the back cover and take a look at the actual buttons on the phone that the rocker actuates. Try putting a tiny piece of electrical tape over each of those to provide a bit more tension on the rocker and eliminate the slop.

thanks Tangent..yeah i was trying to look for fixes on google, and i found two but they were both for diff phones,1 an HD7 and one was a samsung.i was trying to see which instructions i should follow.These were the two links

Loose Volume Rocker?
I havent even taken my battery cover off to investigate where exactly the buttons are but i think that the buttons are connected to the battery cover itself and not the naked body of the phone im gonna have to take a peek

I pulled the cover off before I posted my suggestion. The cover only has the pretty chrome strip attached to it. The actual buttons are two little black buttons on the body of the phone that the chrome strip presses. On your phone the chrome part is just a tiny fraction too far away from the actual buttons to keep from having slack. Raising the surface of the buttons a tiny bit with the tape should fill that gap and make it feel nice and firm.

Thx alot for ur input dude butdo you think tape will gradually melt after months of being in there or something,or should i try something else instead you think?
 
Dunno, but I doubt it'll melt very quickly or at least not quick enough to be a waste to try it. In your pocket and even at the temps our phones can reach electrical tape should be just fine.

EDIT: I just happen to have a roll of electrical tape here and it claims to be good for up to 176*F...

thx for the info.i ended up using a tiny piece of foam,and a tiny piece of a businiess card,it improved the button pretty good but man that button when i took of the battery cover is such a pos..i dont understand why they couldnt put rubber buttons they hold up so much better and theyre nice and firm
