Root ISSUE: Always rebooting to CWM??

If I power off phone and boot it back up -- it boots straight to CWM Recovery.

It doesn't do it if I use reboot with Quickboot, but did when I rebooted through Droid Overclock App.

Any thoughts on why it wants to boot to CWM at times?

So Im sittin here with my dx on the arm of my chair and i see it light up. It rebooted itself into clockworkmod recovery all by its self! Now every time I reboot it is doing same thing as bigshot's. This GB is starting to piss me off lol. What to do?

I also have a Recovery boot up issue. Ever since GB, when I try to boot into recovery with the home key/power combo - release power/hold home till ! android screen, I can no longer get into it with the search key or any key for that matter, it just sticks on the initial recovery bootup screen with the ! mark. Any ideas? Is this normal?

Sorry, not intending to hijack the thread... Oh and I've also had the CWR reboot come up on occasion requiring me to reboot again with the camera key.

Hold down both volume keys instead of search key. It changed with GB. Not sure why those above are going directly to CWM, but if your phone is plugged in to a power source, it will automatically boot into that. It was done to protect against those who get hung up in a bootloop. They just plug in and it boots into CWM.

Thanks, got that now and in recovery. ? = How do I make a selection once there as in "Reboot system now". Left key isn't doin anything nor is the cam button or any other buttons it seems.

Edit: Nevermind I think I just figured it out, its the power button.

Yes I sbf before flashing the the 3 part GB. No I don't have my phone plugged up when it reboots into CLM Recovery. I've had this happen twice now and had to go through the whole process of sbf and flashing again to get it to quit. I didn't even have the D2 bootstrap installed on my phone when it started doing it last night. Any more ideas?

Back on topic, when mine did this I simply did a battery pull then booted back up and all was fine but I did have D2 Bootstrap installed so maybe your situation is different.

Old trick but worth a shot. Go into D2 Bootstrapper (or DX if you are using that with debugging turned off). Click on Bootstrap Recovery and tell it OK, but DO NOT Reboot Recovery. So after doing that, reboot manually and see if you come back into the OS without going through CWM. Not promising a fix, but worth a shot.

Well, I tried this -- and it worked! It didn't boot into CWM! Thanks!

Personally, having my phone boot into cwr first makes me feel
that my phone always has a way of being able to be fixed in case of bootloop or
Error

for those of us with only one battery or dx, the downside could be if you get some random reboot and it is stuck in cwm with the screen on and kills your battery. then you have to get another battery to be able to boot up past cwm before your dead battery can be charged.

Oh no! You can get a regular usb cord and ghetto cut it to charge your current battery. Don't ask me how I know. :D:D

Lol alprazolam, I remember doing that for xbox controllers..:)..As for the topic, I have noticed, on my phone anyway, I will get things like this happening depending on what apps I may install.

What I will normally do is keep track of what I'm putting on my phone. That way if i get a sudden self boot or something I will go back and remove the last app I installed and see if it continues doing it.

Come to think of it, the last time my phone booted into CWM all by itself was after I put d2 bootstrap in and then overclocked my phone. Turned out my overclock wasn't as stable as i first thought.

The way I figure it is your droid is using a computer operating system, in our case linx, so you have to expect the same kind of problems that a computer would suffer from I:E incompatible programs, conflicting system settings, etc.
