Help Issue when phone goes into roaming

I currently have the roaming turned off on my phone because I work close to the Canadian border. The problem is when I'm at work the phone goes into roaming mode so all data is shut off. When the phone recognizes a U.S. signal I'm able to receive/send texts but I don't regain my 3G signal unless I reboot the phone. I shut the 4G off (not avail in that area anyway) to see if that was interferring with it but I still have the same problem. Also, once the phone goes into roaming it also loses the ability to lock the screen. This is only fixed by rebooting the phone. Does anyone else have issues when their Droid Charge goes into roaming? Any help is appreciated

Mine goes into roaming in the center of the US, and gives me a warning that I might incur international roaming charges. In the center of the continetla US?

On the signal/lock Issue I've experienced it as well. Sometimes turning on airplane mode,m the turning it off helps.
