Root Issue with Evo V Root

Lurker
Last night I unlocked my bootloader using HTCdev, then restarted my phone. Later on I restarted to fastboot to flash the custom recovery and got hung up.

My issue is that when I connect the phone in fastboot, the phone is appearing in device manager, fastboot is adjusting to Fastboot USB, but the SD is not mounting and therefore I keep getting Error Device Not Found when I try to send the adb commands via command prompt.
Also if I turn the phone back on, the SD will mount, and so I know it's not a bad SD. I re-installed Sync to no avail...SD was mounting when I unlocked the bootloader before as well..

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks...

After rebooting to the bootloader, you use fastboot commands, not adb. You should be fine as the recovery.img file needs to be in the folder with fastboot.exe on your computer, not your sd card. So it doesn't need to read the sd card during this part.

You should be using the "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" command (with recovery.img being the name of your recovery .img file) to do this.

I have the recovery.img in the same C:\Android directory, but I will try that prompt command and see if I have any better luck tonight... thank you!!
